The Chi Chapter

Gamma Iota Sigma is an international risk management, insurance, and actuarial science collegiate fraternity. Gamma Iota Sigma has a unique history at Drake University. The Chi Chapter at Drake University was founded on May 1, 1982. However, the organization was only around for a short period of time until it was rechartered on November 15, 2012.

 

The purpose of this fraternity is to promote, encourage, and sustain student interest in actuarial science as a profession; to promote scholastic advancement of our members; support those in need both within the chapter and within the community it resides; to facilitate interaction through networking; and to foster a desire for knowledge, a dedication to high character, and faithful brotherhood to the fraternity.

The purpose of this fraternity is to promote, encourage, and sustain student interest in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science professions; to encourage the high moral and scholastic advancements of its members; and to facilitate interaction of educational institutions and industry through networking and providing research activities, scholarships, and improved public relations.
